Stillness of Place
Stillness of place
An interesting realization surfaced as I began to scrutinize my current photography collection: I love quiet, finding stillness in places or things that composed a sense of peace within. I was fascinated by this unintended collection, I had not delved into photography with subjects in mind. I don’t know if that’s a disadvantage or a benefit, yet it was clearly unfolding before my eyes. Three distinct bodies of work began to reveal themselves, and those became the galleries I chose to exhibit here, for you.
Stillness of Place represents those meditative moments that can be so elusive in our encumbered lives. It is the forest, the quiet, the alone, the sacred. It is when our thoughts slow down, and something of the ordinary becomes a stilled breath of extraordinary. Within that single breath lies the union of mind, body, spirit and heart, and the gift of stillness.
